Thread Lifting

A new  non-surgical facelift

If you would like to improve signs of ageing on your face such as sagging cheek, jowls formation, drooping of mouth corners, double chins or deepening of nasolabial folds, LFL Barb II Anchor thread lift may well be the best possible option. This innovative treatment uses bidirectional absorbable thread with arrow-shaped cogs to lift and rejuvenate your facial skin, resulting in a fresher, more youthful appearance.

LFL Barb II ANCHOR is a facelift procedure using a premium lifting thread made of biodegradable material called PCL (polycarpolactone)  with a unique press sculpting method. LFL ANCHOR  is an anti-ageing procedure offering a discreet and immediate lifting effect and a gradual and natural regenerating effect using a specialised suture in a 45 minute procedure. In addition to the mechanical lifting effect, PCL will also stimulate collagen formation and improved skin elasticity. The effect can last up to 2 years.

What to expect during the treatment

Our doctors will discuss your expectations and tailor the treatment approach to meet your aesthetic needs.

Before conducting the treatment, your physician will  explain where the thread sutures will be placed using a marking pen.

Before sutures are inserted into the sub-cutaneous tissue a local anesthetic is injected. There is relatively low level of discomfort during and after your treatment. Once the sutures have been inserted, your physician will reposition the skin to obtain the desired lifting effect. The ends of the sutures are then cut off.

The number of sutures applied depends on skin laxity, the condition of your skin and  your cosmetic needs.

Potential risks or complications

After thread placement you may experience minor pain, swelling or bruising as a result of mild inflammation. Occasionally, a slight depression or skin irregularity may appear at the entry points. However, these symptoms should disappear within a few days of treatment. Other potential side effects include sensory nerve injury, asymmetry or banding.

Following The Treatment

After the insertion of the threads you may experience a minimal acute inflammatory reaction. Symptoms may include minor pain, swelling and bruising.

The lifting effect is immediate. The bi-directional cones of the suture are used to lift the skin and keep it in an elevated position. The collagen generation is gradual. This action, which continues over time, restores the contours of the face and offers long term results.

Your physician will provide you with post-treatment recommendations and an aftercare program to follow to ensure the best possible result.  Generally you are advised not to open your mouth widely for one week after the procedure. Facial treatment or massage are also advised to be delayed until one month later.
